The RAKproject – One Year Later

without comments

So here we are, just a little over one year since I began this crazy idea. And after doing this exercise for the last 12 months, I have realized the toughest part about The RAK Project.

It was hard.

Doing a RAK every day can certainly take a toll, and early on in this Project I saw it as another chore to check off the list, and found myself even skipping a day or two of RAKs because of the effort involved.  Eventually, work and life and other things took priority, and I stopped keeping track of them around #300, which was in October.  So in the technical sense, I failed.

But I realized that was ok.

The whole point of The RAK Project was the effort.  To force me to get out of my comfort zone, give me something to work at, and mostly, to keep me accountable for my own feelings and actions toward others.  It helped me take a personal responsibility to go above-and-beyond daily to think about all the people around me.  And it really helps to recognize the bigger picture, and realize all I can do is make my own world a positive place. Big things often do start small.

So it’s a new year, and a fresh start.  I’m starting The RAK Project all over again.  I want to see if I can make it to all 365.

Who is with me?
